The Finchley Society

Stephens (Avenue) House, 17 East End Road, Finchley N3 3QE

As Heritage Development Officer for the London Borough of Barnet, Hugh Petrie has researched and uncovered many interesting people, some of whom became famous, some not, but who led remarkable lives, or did remarkable things. Hugh will introduce us to some of those on his list, which includes inventors, sports people, artists, musicians etc. Hugh’s talks are always full of fascinating information and this sounds like another!

Hugh Petrie was brought up in Finchley, where he still lives with his wife and family. He went to Christ’s College Finchley and graduated in history from the University of Northumberland and Essex University. He has written a number of local histories and has been Heritage Development Officer for Barnet for 20 years.

The meeting will take place at Stephens (Avenue) House, 17 East End Road, Finchley N3 3QE. It will begin at 7.30 pm.

Note: You will find an internet calendar (ICS) file here. You can use this file to add the January 26 meeting to your online calendar.
