1964
Martyn Gerrard opened his first office. It was at 1392 High Road, Whetstone.
The first properties that Martyn Gerrard marketed in 1964 were an “ultra-modern” apartment in Barnet for £3,250 and a three bedroom house in Whetstone for £4,650. His first sale was a three bedroom house on Byng Road, Barnet for £4,950.
The average London property price at the time was £3,835. Also in 1964 - Beetlemania hit America, Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment, the classic musical, Mary Poppins, was released and BBC 2 was launched.
1968
Our second office was opened at 773 High Road, North Finchley.
The average London property price in 1968 is £4,418. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated; the musical Hair opened on Broadway; Dad's Army and Hawaii Five-O are broadcast for the first time; and the Boeing 747 makes its first commercial flight.
1970
Our third office opens – 365 Regents Park Road, Finchley Central.
The average London property price is £5,252. The Greater London Council announces plans for the Thames Barrier; Apollo 13 hits trouble; The Goodies debuts on BBC Two; The Prince of Wales joined the Royal Navy; and Martin Peters became the first £200,000 footballer with his transfer from West Ham to Tottenham Hotspur.
1975
The East Finchley office opens at 146 High Road.
The average London property price is £11,715. Margaret Thatcher defeats Edward Heath for the leadership of the Conservative Party; Monty Python and the Holy Grail is released in the UK and Jaws is released in the US; Bill Gates and Paul Allen found Microsoft.
1979
Director David Smith joins the Company.
1980
The Crouch End office is opened at 45 The Broadway.
The average London property price is £25,451. The Rubik's Cube makes its debut; Pac-Man is released in Japan; Lech Walesa leads the first of many strikes at the Gdańsk Shipyard in Poland; John Lennon is murdered.
1984
The Muswell Hill office opens at 255 Muswell Hill Broadway.
The average London property price was £35,348. Breakfast TV starts in UK with the BBC Breakfast Time and TV-am; pound notes are taken out of circulation; The Apple Macintosh and CD Players go on sale for the first time.
1991
Director Warren Price joins the Company

Managing Director, Simon Gerrard takes over the day to day running of the Company.
2002
Director Greg Tsuman joins the company.
2002
The Muswell Hill office moves to bigger premises at 300 Muswell Hill Broadway.
The average house price was £106,406. Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Golden Jubilee; Microsoft launched the Xbox-Live; I'm a celebrity get me out of here debuted on ITV; Rio Ferdinand became the most expensive player in English football when he moved from Leeds United to Manchester United for £29.1m; Emma Raducanu was born.
2007
The Kentish Town Office opens at 304 Kentish Town Road.
The average London property price is £295,694. Madeleine McCann disappeared in Portugal; Prince William officially opened the new Wembley Stadium; Gordon Brown replaced Tony Blair as leader of the Labour party and Prime Minister; the smoking ban comes into force; Fabio Capello is appointed England Football manager; the last Harry Potter novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is published.
2008
MG Head Office opens
The average London property price is £290,261. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is inaugurated; Barack Obama is elected the 44th President of the United States; Boris Johnson defeats Ken Livingstone to become Mayor of London; Lewis Hamilton became the youngest ever Formula One World Champion.
2009
The East Finchley office moves to larger premises at 66/68 High Road.
2010
The Mill Hill Office opens at 107 Mill Hill Broadway.
The average London property price is £292,277. The tallest man-made structure (to date), the Burj Khalifa in Dubai opens; boy band One Direction is formed; the general election resulted in a hung parliament; The one millionth Range Rover is produced at the Land Rover factory in Solihull; Prince William and Catherine Middleton announce their engagement.
2011
The Muswell Hill office expands into 300/302 Muswell Hill Broadway.

2012
Martyn Gerrard re-brands.
2013
The Barnet office opens at 4 Exchange Buildings.
The average London property price is £332,998. Prince George is born; Benedict XVI resigns as pope and is replaced by Pope Francis; Margaret Thatcher dies; Andy Murray defeats Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.
2013/14
Simon Gerrard becomes President of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).
2014
Martyn Gerrard celebrates 50 successful years in business.
2016
The Southgate Office opens at 85 Chase Side.
The average London property price is £475,530. The UK votes to leave the EU; Donal Trump is elected President of the USA; Tim Peake becomes the first Britain to make a spacewalk; and six men are jailed for the £14m Hatton Garden jewellery heist.
2017
The New Homes Office opens at 344 Regents Park Road.
The average London property price is £488,527. Theresa May calls a snap general election; the round £1 coins cease to be legal tender; At the Oscars, presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announced La La Land as the best picture when the Academy Award for Best Picture should have gone to Moonlight.
