What’s great about the area, what should people know about it?
There is a long established community spirit here. Families move into the area and stay. It’s quite often we get young families moving here as it's where they grew up and they want to be back close to their parents.
We're on the edge of London so we get the best of both worlds. Central London is about 30 mins on the tube or train and in the other direction is open countryside.
What are the best roads to live on?
The area is predominantly family orientated. Many of the roads in the area have large family homes, such as all the roads around Oakleigh Park, and those off the High Road like Chandos Avenue, Athenaeum Road & Buckingham Avenue.

Just off the High Road is Swan Lane Open Space this is a fabulous park and wooded area, it has a children's playground and a café.
Anything else?
Some locals will tell you the name Whetstone comes from the time of Wars of the Roses in the 15th Century. It was here soldiers made camp on their way to fight at the Battle of Barnet and used a ‘whet-stone’ to sharpen their weapons. The stone can still be seen on the High Road outside the Griffin Pub. However, this stone is more likely to be what’s left of a mounting block as the Griffin was a well-known 18th century coaching inn.
